My Story

Following My Creative Heart

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to designing, making, and creating. To me, creativity is infinite — a space with no boundaries. I'm always exploring, learning new techniques, and trying different mediums, led by curiosity and a deep love for the process.

Like many, I’ve found it challenging to let go of the “busyness” of life and make space for creativity. It’s not always easy to carve out the time or find the right headspace — but when I do, I value every moment. I love getting lost in my own little creative wonderland, where minutes slip easily into hours.

Creative workshops give people space — a moment to pause, connect with others, and return to self. The experience stays with you, creating something by your own hands can be so fulfilling and therapeutic.

I truly believe in these qualities of creativity and how they support well-being. The effects are subtle but powerful. When we create, we connect with something deeply human. It brings balance, supports self-regulation, and fosters a sense of empowerment that comes not from outcomes, but from the act of creating itself.

So many people have been told they’re not creative — but I believe creativity lives in all of us. It’s an innate part of being human. When it’s nurtured, it helps us feel more grounded, more connected, and more at peace.

Back Story

After finishing school, I studied Art & Design at college and worked as a Graphic Designer for over 20 years. Once all the children were school age, I began to explore my own creative practice in painting and ceramics, and with my interests in humanities, led me to study qualifications in both in Art Therapy and Counselling.

I have since worked as an art & education facilitator, with certifications in Working With Children, NDIS, and Primary Ethics teaching.

I have held an art therapy group in aged care facility and more recently provided a Therapeutic Art Program across the Tweed & Byron community housing hubs after the 2022 floods for those displaced by the floods. These sessions were to cultivate togetherness and self-determination through the processes of creativity.

In December 2024, I opened my own studio – a space to enjoy both the joys and benefits of creativity through workshops, private events and school holiday programs.
