My Story

FOLLOWING MY CREATIVE HEART.

Since I can remember I have been passionate about designing, making and creating. To me, the world of creativity is infinite and boundless. I am always looking to expand my skills and explore all mediums and techniques available to me on this creative journey.

It has always been a challenge to let go of the “busyness” of life and prioritise the creative mindset. It’s not always easy to find the time and space to do so; But when I do, I love every moment; And before I know it, I am immersed in my own wonderland, the minutes turning to hours.

I myself found creative workshops provided me with a space where I could let go and find the headspace to explore my creativity and connect with both friends and new faces. So I have always imagined opening a studio of my own one day as a supportive space to offer what I heave learnt from my experiences.

I wholly believe in the therapeutic qualities of creativity. The benefits are so gentle yet powerful because practice is so subtle and intuitive. When we create, we channel our true selves which supports self-regulation and mind-body integration and increases self-empowerment.

So many people have been told that they are not creative but I don’t believe that. We are all born creative, it’s an innate part of being human that when nurtured cultivates balance and peace within.

Professional Experience

When I left school I studied Art & Design, facilitating childrens art workshops in the holidays and then went on to work as a Graphic Designer for 20 years until I became a Mum of three. When my children reached middle school, I decided to explore painting and ceramics, and returned to study to graduate in Art Therapy & Counselling.

I am an experienced workshop facilitator with WWC, NDIS, and Primary Ethics teaching certification. From August 2023- October 2024 I ran a Therapeutic Art Program at Tweed and Byron Shire’s Temporary Housing Hubs, offering weekly sessions to support those displaced by floods before setting up my studio in December 2024.
